The first Herman Miller exhibition to be held in Asia, REACH:Hong Kong 2011 delighted, educated and inspired all those who attended on 15 and 16 September.
October 10th, 2011
REACH: Hong Kong 2011, presented by Herman Miller in collaboration with the Hong Kong Design Institute, pulled a huge crowd on 15 and 16 September, with an overflowing auditorium eager to hear from design greats including Don Chadwick, Steve Frykholm, Phunk Studio and Eames Demetrios.

Other highlights of the event included the gorgeous Retreat zone, designed by the multi-talented Phunk Studio, and the rare opportunity to be taken on a guided tour of Essential Eames by Eames Demetrios, grandson of the legendary design couple.

The inaugural Pan Asia Pacific Aeron Hockey Championship had teams from Australia, India, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, Japan and Thailand battling it out, with the Australian team victorious in the end and crowned best in the region.
India were runners up and Indonesia came third in the competition that put office chairs to what might be their best use!

Many thanks to partners and sponsors HKDI, POSH, Woven Image, Formica and Indesign Magazine for making the event possible.

The Essential Eames exhibition will remain open to the public from 10am – 5pm until December 2nd (closed Tuesdays). Read our interview with Eames Demetrios, the curator of this wonderful exhibition, here.
