Concocted by Rebecca Perry, Managing Director of interior architecture consultancy Response-group Australia, Food Wine and Design is an engaging epicurean experience all in the name of a philanthropic cause.
At the inaugural Food Wine and Design event last year, diners came together to raise $18 000 for St Edmunds School through a long lunch enjoyed with members of the architecture and design community.
They dined, they wined, and they donated, surrounded by iconic designer furnishings at the Corporate Culture showroom in Chippendale.
To coincide with Melbourne Cup’s 150th year anniversary, Response-Group Australia present FOOD WINE and DESIGN (in collaboration with FDC) is holding a Champagne celebratory event.
Proceeds raised will go to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and Shanti’s Bathroom Project (FOOD WINE and DESIGN’s latest completed project to provide a bathroom for Shanti Woodend, a ten-year-old girl with VACTERL syndrome).
The Doltone House on the upper deck of the historic and newly restored Jones Bay Wharf, Pyrmont Point, will play host to the three-course event paired with wine on Tuesday 2nd November. The event continues till 5:30pm in the Birdcage sponsored by Stylecraft Australia – enjoy bubbles on arrival overlooking the harbour.
The events provide an opportunity for industry professionals to show their support for a cause, this time with the target of raising $30,000 for The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
Major prizes include a week’s accommodation for you and ten of your friends at Claremont House in the hunter valley thanks to Swish Wines, a holiday to New Zealand staying at the exclusive PAREHUA Country Estate and an Ilve Dishwasher thanks to Designer Homewares.
Alongside the support of Habitus and Indesignlive, design gurus one8one7 got involved, using their graphic design expertise to brand the FWD event, while other industry members have pooled together to offer an array of prizes, through a silent and live auction.
To get involved and be a part of this experience, visit the Food Wine and Design website, where tickets, priced at $180, can be purchased and you can find out more.
