What better way to see Brisbane than through the eyes of the people who know it best?

In the lead up to Brisbane Indesign, we’ve asked some of the city’s top design personalities to share with us their favourite haunts and hangouts, what inspires them most about Brisbane – as well as some little-known facts about the city.

Bet you didn’t know that Spring Hill is home to some of Australia’s oldest still-operating baths, built in 1888 (thanks Jane Sorby) and that Brisbane has Australia’s most visited art gallery complex, with attendance numbers surpassing those in Melbourne last year (thanks Kirsti Simpson).

Find out the best cafés, places to shop, landmarks to visit and things to experience in Brisbane from notable residents including Alex Lotersztain, Brian Steendyk, Michael Rayner and much more.

In the words of Surya Graf, “there are interesting things brooding under the surface… You just have to look for it.” Find it with Brisbane Insiders as part of Brisbane Indesign.

Dipped in integrity: The profound depth of Aeron Chair’s extended palette

Aeron Chair’s new shades, Nightfall and Jasper, arrive with a sense of quiet cohesion – no bells and whistles, no loud technicolour; just two timeless, perfectly versatile near-neutrals. But the new hues aren’t just about colour – and their significance is much more profound than their surface-level subtlety might suggest.

A collective vision: The whimsical workplace with Intuit, COX and MillerKnoll

Stepping into Intuit’s Sydney workplace certainly doesn’t feel like walking into an office. Why? In this film, we discover that, when joy takes precedence as a design driver, even a high-performing commercial CBD headquarters can feel like an intuitive wonderland that invites employees to choose their own adventure.
