Sculptural, curvy, playful and very Nordic, Lune is a new modular sofa concept with unlimited possibilities, designed by Jaime Hayon for Republic of Fritz Hansen.
Award-winning Spanish designer Jaime Hayon continues to raise the bar in design with a new modular sofa concept created for the reputed Danish furniture brand, Republic of Fritz Hansen.
Recently showcased at the Salone del Mobile 2017 in Milan, Lune intersects clean Nordic aesthetics with southern elegance, and is anything but conventional.
Jaime Hayon’s sofa breaks all the rules of modular design with a sculptural and curvy appearance, characteristic of the talented designer, combining his playful creativity with Fritz Hansen’s reputation for creating a highly functional range with unlimited possibilities. The modular sofa concept allows multiple configurations from straight two- and three-seaters to larger 6-seater L-shaped corner sofas along with 3-seater chaise lounge options.
By adding an aesthetic dimension to a modular concept and also underscoring the importance of comfort in design, Hayon has ensured the sofa collection lives up to the true meaning of the Danish word, Lune*.
Designed to be extremely comfortable, Lune’s exceptionally soft seat features cushions crafted using four layers of material with a top layer of duck and goose feather, and completely upholstered with a cotton-linen fabric blend in a sophisticated colour palette. Enveloping the user in incredible comfort and softness, the cushions readily return to their original form with just a few gentle pats.
Lune is the latest furniture collection from Republic of Fritz Hansen, a company well known for their creative collaborations with leading international designers such as Arne Jacobsen, Poul Kjærholm, Pierro Lissoni, Kasper Salto and Jaime Hayon.
*Lune refers to a certain coveted, ideal temperature and feeling one gets when everything is just right.
