Discover the world of interior design and the range of possible career paths it offers at INSIGHT School of Interior Design, Hong Kong, on 15 February 2017, as three industry experts weigh in on their experiences and offer their tips.
Between 6 and 8pm on Wednesday 15 February 2017, three interior designers will speak to visitors to INSIGHT School of Interior Design, Hong Kong, about the different directions their careers have taken, and the options available to aspiring designers. Speaking at the event is Suzy Annetta, Founder of boutique interior design firm Studio Annetta, Founder and Editor of Design Anthology magazine, and one of INSIGHT’s regular teachers. She teaches a short course on Textiles for Interiors, as well contributing to INSIGHT’s part-time and full-time programmes.
Also speaking is JJ Acuna, who recently set up his own design firm, JJA / Bespoke Architecture, after over a decade spent working for the likes of Woods Bagot and LWK. He also runs social media platform theWanderlister, where he writes about design and travel, as well as acting as one of the teachers on INSIGHT’s Commercial Design certificate.
The third speaker for the evening is Emma Maclean, whose career path took her from commercial and residential real estate group Mirvac in Australia to Bilkey Llinas Design, HBA/Hirsch Bedner Associates, Steve Leung Designers, and Studio HBA, where she now works as Interior Designer and Marketing Manager. Studio HBA is a specialist division of global interior design consultancy HBA, and it focuses on offering boutique, bespoke services.
All three speakers have active, varied and successful careers in design, and, at INSIGHT’s talk, visitors will hear about the experiences they have had so far, as well as the wisdom they have gained along the way. Presentations and a panel discussion will be followed by a Q&A session and networking drinks, making this a great opportunity for anyone interested in design to find out more, and to make relevant industry connections.
INSIGHT’s So You Want to be an Interior Designer? talk is free, but spaces are limited, so register soon. Visit the interior design school’s website to register and to find out more.
