One of the biggest highlights at Indesign: The Event is back once more, with even more inspiration to offer. The Project is the creative installation series that unites brands with the land’s top design talents in pulling off one-of-a-kind experiences for all who visit Singapore Indesign.

XTRA x ID21/IMAJIN

XTRA goes all out and presents a double feature this year with two Project collaborations. First up, award-winning interior design firm ID21 collaborates with Magis and creates an alternate universe where anything is possible. Find your place in the quirky, abstract animal world of the Magis Puppy, Dodo and Pingy. (Pictured above)

Paying tribute to one of the greatest minds in design history, XTRA celebrates the life and work of Pierre Paulin in collaboration with IMAJIN. Known for his designs for the likes of Artifort, Magis and La Cividina, Paulin’s work was ahead of its time. In a tribute to his vision, IMAJIN presents an interactive, multi-media installation that captures the iconic quality of his work.

EDL x Formwerkz

Enter an enchanted forest of light, shadows and myriad timber varieties with EDL and Formwerkz. Known for their masterful ways with texture and materials, Formwerkz will construct an interactive installation with a wide spectrum of EDL’s timber laminates. Enter the sanctum of “the tree” and experience the magic of dappled light and ever-changing silhouettes on your skin.

Kokuyo x M Moser

The future is in global sustainability, according to Kokuyo and M Moser. As generations grow and a new equilibriums in nature emerges, the need to reassess the impact and connectivity of human activity to the environment is imperative. Expressing this is an interactive installation designed to change progressively over the course of the day. Sculptures of wire and mesh take the human form on Kokuyo’s new INSPINE chair, while visitors are also encouraged to create and add their own wire mesh sculptures to symbolise the impact that humans have on our immediate environment. JUNG x GAD

A vision of high-tech connectivity anchors The Project by JUNG and GAD. The Project collaboration between the German switches and systems manufacturer and the Singapore architecture firm expresses the beauty and mystery of wiring and connectivity. The installation showcases JUNG’s product advancements in technology and aesthetics, while illustrating the “circuit board” of wires that run behind-the-scenes. From basic functions like fan and lighting control to more advanced functions like monitoring carbon dioxide content in the air, this layered collage of controls is a clear indication of the future of home automation.
