Great Dane joins the Queensland set with the opening of its new retail destination in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley. Here are all the highlights from its welcoming soiree.
September 29th, 2022
After searching high and low for the perfect location, Great Dane has found a new home for its Brisbane showroom, now open in Fortitude Valley.
The cavernous warehouse space has been transformed into a luxury setting, with a warm and minimalist backdrop to let the full range of Scandinavian furniture and lighting shine.
Conceived as a space where customers are invited to linger and lounge, the new showroom is focused on encouraging visitors to really get to know each piece and its unique backstory.
“The showroom has been designed to feel like a home. Customers become a part of it and are treated like family, crafting their own journey, and learning about the makers who have selected the perfect Swedish leather or tree planks for their table,” shares Great Dane founder, Anton Assaad.

While undeniably a reflection of the Great Dane ethos, the Brisbane outpost is a lighter and brighter space than the Sydney and Melbourne counterparts. Sage green and white walls create a gentle ambience, which is more in line with the sub-tropical locale.
To honour the new space, an official opening was held where architects, designers and clientele were invited to the new showroom in true Great Dane hospitality.
Exquisite wines and canapes were served, with a grazing table featuring Nordic twists. Guests mingled long into the balmy night, spilling out into the street.
Salute to the perfect occasion for the perfect space.
