Groundbreaking research and development from Silent Gliss has resulted in textiles that boast odour-eliminating, blackout and antibacterial properties
February 11th, 2013
For ‘The Collection’, Silent Gliss harked back to an oft-forgotten axiom of window treatment: that window shading is about more than just decoration. ‘The Collection’ is a return to function and effect, isolating the special technical features of fabrics.
The result is a new set of high-end fabrics that set themselves apart from everything else on the market. In ‘The Collection’, you will find fabrics with attributes as specialised as sound elimination, odour elimination, and antibacterial properties – and they’re all flame retardant.
‘Linlook’ Freshtex®from ‘The Collection’ by Silent Gliss
The remarkable Freshtex® curtain fabrics actively break down odours. They’re ideal for healthcare and hospitality – anywhere that indoor air quality is especially important, or any setting in which people spend most of their time inside.
Unlike most air cleaning materials, Freshtex® does not simply coat over unpleasant odours. The fabric, containing noble metals, actually breaks them down.
Hazardous substances such as nicotine, formaldehyde, ammoniac and other bad odours are extracted from the air. As they pass through the fabric, the metals perform a catalytic function.
This breaks the substances down into harmless natural odours. So with Freshtex®, Silent Gliss have created a fabric which permanently destroys harmful odours.
These air cleaning properties are retained even after repeated washing. For optimal air quality improvement, it is simply recommended that the surface area of the Freshtex® fabric be proportional to the size of the room.
‘Dimout’ Freshtex®from ‘The Collection’ by Silent Gliss
‘The Collection’ from Silent Gliss offers a captivating range of fabrics; their qualities seem almost magical. The Collection’ offers transparent, dimout and blackout fabrics, odour eliminating, sound eliminating, and antibacterial fabrics. These incredible technical properties are offered in a diversity of materials and colours.
In 1952, Silent Gliss introduced a world premiere with the first ever, silent curtain track system. This same foresight and industry-leading innovation is behind their newest offering, ‘The Collection’.
