Chairbiz’s emerging artists program, Artists@Work saw 10 Melbourne artists selected to produce artworks live, as part of The Project at Saturday in Design in Melbourne
August 29th, 2012
Visitors to Chairbiz on Saturday could wander over to Chairbiz’s neighbouring car park to view each artist producing their work on-site, to be auctioned off at the end of the day.

Each artist was selected based on skill, technique and authenticity of style, and turning out to see the culmination of this was a crowd of enthusiastic SID-goers and prospective bidders. Going under the hammer at 4pm on Saturday, the artworks were auctioned off to a selection of committed bidders.

Congratulations to winning artist Barbara Kitallides, whose work was chosen as being most outstanding on the day by judges, Miriam Fanning of Mim Design; Prof. Martyn Hook, Dean of Art at RMIT and DQ Editor, Alice Blackwood.

Also congratulation to People’s Choice Award winner, artist Grace McKellar whose work went to lucky recipient Louise Taphouse.
A second prize of one night’s accommodation at the Art Series Hotels was also raffled off Renee Moran.
