The latest collection from iconic Italian brand Zanotta has landed at Space showrooms. Released at the 2015 Milan Fair the collection features new products such as the Santiago table, Liza armchair and Shoji screen, as well as updates on old classics, including the William and Sciangai collections.

Designed by Frank Rettenbacher, the Santiago dining table (pictured below) brings together the best of design and engineering. “Santiago is a dining table with light design, complementary to the Emil small table and the Mina console,” explains Rettenbacher. “The idea is bringing the same lightness of the metal tables into bigger sized versions.” The design is inspired by the work of architect Santiago Calatrava, with the expanded top surface conceals strengthening T-profiles, which prevent warping and avoid using bulky cross-bars.
Comfortable and cozy, the Liza armchair (pictured below) designed by Studio Lievore, Altherr and Molina is available with a polypropylene frame, a padded seat cushion or fully covered seat in various fabrics and leathers. “Liza was designed to be a versatile seat, under the formal and construction viewpoints, offered in a wide range of bases and finishes,” explain the designers. “The timeless style, shape and comfort are Liza’s contributions in any environment it is proposed for.”
Shoji (pictured below) is a multi-functional piece, acting as a shelf, room divider and textile screen. “Shoji fits into the Zanotta tradition made by unique objects with strong personality,” explain the designers LucidiPevere. “Shoji is a hybrid object, an essential wooden structure framing a textile and stretching it thanks to a small supporting shelf.” The frame with console-shelf is made of solid natural oak or painted black, with a multilayered panel and a non-removable wool fabric.
The Zanotta collection is available exclusively from Space Furniture in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, and at www.spacefurniture.com.
