A celebration of contemporary Spanish design, ‘The Window to Design is AJAR’ competition will see Melbourne’s most acclaimed design studios make use of their creativity and innovation to highlight the essence of contemporary Spanish design.
October 13th, 2015
Each month, a different designer will be challenged, under a brief, to highlight the essence of contemporary Spanish design in Australia by creating an installation in the window of AJAR showroom featuring a curated selection of pieces from the AJAR collection. The firms participating in the event are representative of the best Australian design and architecture studios – SJB, Geyer, Baldasso Cortese, Atticus & Milo, Robert Mills Architects, Flack, Alexa Nice Design, Hot Black, and Bruce Henderson Architects and together will bring a wealth of expertise and design skills to each installation.
The installation will be housed at AJAR’s Johnston Street showroom in Collingwood – an area that is rapidly establishing itself as one of Melbourne’s fastest growing and most progressive design destinations. The installations will provide a focus for the local streetscape, enlivening and enriching the street experience. The local community benefit from a unique perspective on contemporary design as viewed by local creatives, as well as being able to participate in workshops, seminars and prize draws.
