2TEC2 is seriously high-tech flooring. The ultimate balance of science and design.
August 4th, 2015
It’s an odd proposition to think of flooring as technological, I know. And while many flooring agents are purely aesthetic, clever brands such as 2TEC2 are the result of a refined design with a evidence-based scientific and technological approach.
2TEC2 is a brand that love carpet collections that have that little extra. An extra surprise when it comes to design. Extra imagination for personal service. But also extra commitment to environmental health. Their expertly crafted woven PVC floor coverings are not only intended to make the world more beautiful – but also better through technology.
For example, 2TEC2 products are designed to last for generations. This translates into sustainable carpets that are particularly wear-resistant to intensive usage in the long term. 2TEC2 is also committed to using PVC that is not only recoverable but can also be re-used again in full.
Well, that all sounds great, but how does this technology actually work?
NO HARMFUL HEAVY METALS
2TEC2 collections are guaranteed not to contain any traces of mercury, cadmium, chromium 6+, lead and other harmful heavy metals. European regulations have banned the use of these substances, which does not apply to similar products that are manufactured in Asia.
IMPROVED AIR QUALITY
2TEC2 amply complies with the strictest international standards governing the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOC). Reducing these emissions by a factor 10, their carpet collections are certain to enhance the indoor air quality inside buildings.
WORLD’S STRICTEST STANDARDS
The responsible use of raw materials is the cornerstone of 2TEC2’s high-tech vinyl tiles. For instance, 2TEC2 uses only high-grade plasticisers (DINP and DIDP) that are fully compliant with European regulations. Their PVC powder is entirely harmless and meets the ÖKO-TEX 100 Class 1 label, which is widely considered to be the world’s strictest standard in this respect.
OFFERS PREMIUM HYGEINE + ACOUSTICS
Courtesy of innovative materials – vinyl and fibreglass – these woven floor coverings can be perfectly cleaned using only water and some detergent. Fast and easy, especially compared against conventional textiles. Good maintenance not only gives your carpeting a look that continues to retain its aesthetic appeal, it also guarantees longer service life, optimum hygiene and better acoustics.
