Collection Reinterprets Classic Components from Past Collections from a New Perspective
July 9th, 2015
Tai Ping, global manufacturer of handmade carpets renowned for exceptional craftsmanship and fine materials, is proud to unveil Antho10gy, a bold reinvention of the company’s most iconic designs from the past 10 years. The resulting collection comprises 20 all-new carpet designs while retaining the essence of Tai Ping’s most beloved collections.
Developed under the leadership of Global Creative Director Jean-Pierre Tortil and Global Design Director Yasmina Benazzou, Antho10gy represents the intersection of design, material, colour and construction. The collection takes the company’s most exquisite designs from iconic collections and reconsiders key elements anew, layering elements of the past and present to evoke a multi-dimensional juxtaposition. The collection reconsiders materials, including fine wools and spun and dull silks, all of which were specifically chosen to enhance the beauty of individual designs.
As a result, Antho10gy represents a stunning collection of abstract shapes, sculptural effects, painterly motifs and contemporary interpretations of classical subjects.
“Tai Ping has always stood for its commitment to ancestral hand-tufted and handknotted rug making techniques, while at the same time embracing innovation and cutting-edge design. Antho10gy sits at the nexus of these ideals,” explains James Kaplan, chief executive officer of Tai Ping.
For the first time in the brand’s history, Antho10gy is offered in the ready-made colourways Luminous Fades, Rustic Fades and Eclipsing Fades. As always, Tai Ping offers custom design services to meet the unique needs of any residential project.
“Antho10gy is the opportunity to showcase Tai Ping expertise and point-of-view through a decade of design and savoir-faire,” explains Yasmina Benazzou, Global Design Director of Tai Ping. “It summarises and celebrates what we have accomplished, defining what we are today, and pointing the way for what is to come.”
