A light show unveils the world’s tallest building.
January 19th, 2010
Spiking the Dubai skyline is the imposing ‘Burj Khalifa’ – now the world’s tallest building.
Jutting into the sky, the gigantic edifice breaks all the records with its 828 metres with over 160 floors.
When the skies are clear, the newly inaugurated building can be seen from a spectacular 100 kilometres away.
The inauguration of such a groundbreaking structure to a worldwide audience was as impressive as the skyscraper itself, with the staging of an epic light show by Space Cannon.
The arm of the Zumtobel brand provided 300 Ireos spotlights with 7000W each, illuminating the building after dark to showcase the overwhelming heights of Dubai’s latest project.
The world’s strongest searchlight ‘the Ramses 2’ – installed with 72000 W – was presented for the first time, marking the largest lighting installation in the company’s history.
“With this large-scale illumination project we have once again demonstrated that we are a professional partner for superior architectural presentation. We use conventional light sources but also state-of-the-art LED technology”, said Peter Roos, managing director.
