Saturday in Design is just one week away. Australia’s premier event for architects and designers will be welcoming a number of international and special Australian guests to showrooms around Sydney.
Make time to drop in on the following design locations to meet with the special guests.
International Guest: Eun Il Lee

Korean design master, Eun Il Lee, creator of the Artvivant Collections and founder of his eponymous brand eunillee will visit the Flinders St Precinct.
Special Australian Guests: Leah Manwaring, Michelle Simin, Kristen Quayle, Christie Arulappu.

After graduating from Canberra School of Art Sydney based textile designer Leah Manwaring spent a numbers of years developing her design skills at a number of design houses/institutions abroad.
These included London design house de Gournay, the Fabric Workshop and Museum, Philadelphia and CRDITM in Montreal. She now works for international carpet manufacturer Brintons designing carpet for major hotel and hospitality clients.

Japanese designer, Hiromichi Konno, will be mingling with guests on the day. A designer for Fritz Hansen and Frederik Moller and creator of the RIN Chair, Konno has studied in Japan and Sweden and lived for many years in London, informing his international outlook on design.

Meet the Electrolux partners who will be in the showroom during the day. Alex Perry will present on fabric care and Tetsuya Wakuda will run an intimate masterclass and induction cooking sessions.

Meet Ulf Magnusson and Emilio Marisei from HAG Norway, who will be discussing the FUTU, a revolutionary chair with advanced technology and introduction of the new InBalance system.

If you have participated or missed their passed workshops in Australia, here’s an opportunity to sit down with Marivi and Sandro to talk about lighting design whilst you make your own creations with their materials. Get a hands on feel for what makes sense with manufacturing lzf lamps and screens and take away the final product….and there’s more….Spanish jamon will be served.

At 10am on Saturday, Heinz Meyering (Chairman of Koenig + Neurath, Germany) will speak on ‘Why the Germans Do It Better’ in regards to furniture design and the environment.

Reece will host a VIP breakfast, featuring special guest Daniel Nikles, General Manager of Nikles Showers in Italy. The event will also mark the release of the black Liscio tapware range from Phoenix.
