Michael Young has teamed up with watch brand O.D.M. to create the Hacker timepiece.
September 15th, 2011
UK-born, Hong Kong-based designer Michael Young has been a busy man lately.
He’s just published Works In China, a retrospective book looking at his designs from the past 5 years; a range of electronics out of corn starch, including headphones and speakers – and now a watch for Hong Kong brand O.D.M.
THe Hacker watch was inspired by precision engineering techniques developed throughout O.D.M’s history.
Building on this to respond to his own needs, Young added a raised metal disc to the centre to protect the glass from scratching.
Visual ergonomics let the dial to be easily read at a glance, with bold lines clearly marking out the time.
The Hacker watch will be available from O.D.M. in October/November this year.
