Regional Commendation awarded to Brisbane’s new state-of-the-art aged care facility.
May 11th, 2011
Fulton Trotter Architects have received a Regional Commendation in the Multiple Housing category at the 2011 Brisbane Regional Architecture Awards for their Parkview aged care facility in Brisbane’s Wheller Gardens.
“We’re excited about this award because it’s a mark of excellence in Aged Care design in Queensland,” said Fulton Trotter Director, Mark Trotter, of the 144-bed resort-like complex.
“We have an extensive history of aged care design and Parkview demonstrates our full capabilities responding well to our clients’ needs and their requirements for an Eden Alternative of a non-institutionalised aged care environment for a large range of high-care residents.”
The jury commended Parkview for its “sensitive and well considered design”.
“Based around landscaped courtyards, the articulated corridors and rooms capture views, breezes and light, creating a feeling of warmth for its 144 residents.
“Thoughtful details create a sense of home while welcoming in the broader community,” said the jury.
