In line with the diversification of work practices in recent years, the office chair has had to keep pace with expanding needs. It has now evolved into a multifunctional ‘machine’ with various adjustable parts that help achieve comfortable work positions.

Comfort may have improved with the help of mechanical control, but now, Kokuyo has taken it to the next level with an ‘airflow’ innovation that facilitates ‘organic control’ and to that end, a new organic sensation and a comfort not previously known.

Designed by Shunji Yamanaka, Avein incorporates uniquely developed air cushions that match the contours of the human body. Each set of cushions – two on the top and bottom of the chair back and two on the front and rear of the seat – are connected by ‘air veins’. Air flows between the paired up air cushions in response to the user’s posture and movements, to optimise the distribution of body pressure. In addition, valves control the flow of air between the cushions, to enable the user to change the comfort levels with infinite possibilities.

Key features:

Seat Flow – the seat air cushions respond to the forward and backward movements of the user. The airflow can be adjusted to maintain stable user posture.

Back Flow – Air flows between the back cushions in response to the user’s spine movements to keep pace with posture. Infinite adjustment of the airflow provides optimum support.

Body Pressure – This chair performs excellently in distributing body pressure. It tempers the connection of body weight to provide the most comfortable sitting position.
