Which trait do you identify within the workspace? The Extrovert, the Optimist, the Minimalist, the Naturalist, or a combination of more than one? The Series 1 range offers solutions to fit every persona.
May 10th, 2018
“Are you the Extrovert, the Optimist, the Minimalist, or the Naturalist?” so the Steelcase Singapore team greeted us at the launch party of Series 1, the brand’s latest office chair range.
The brand assigned a specific colour palette to each personality: purple and maroon for the Extrovert, yellow and orange for the Optimist, black and white for the Minimalist, green and teal for the naturalist, and showcased the series’ wide range of finishes accordingly – with themed canapés to match. It’s a simple, fun way to start the night of Series 1’s debut in Singapore.
“Each aspect of the Series 1 chair has been designed to meet the needs and personas of new age employees,” said Steelcase Asia Pacific Design Manager Peter Bockel. “Our larger thought process behind the launch has been to design and achieve a solution that combines the expertise of Steelcase and enables organizations and employees to express their brand in the best possible manner.”
Series 1 features Steelcase-patented Liveback technology that allows the chair to mimic users’ spine as they move throughout the day; 4D adjustable arms that can move in height, width, depth and pivot; and a weight-activated mechanism that allowed for quick seat adjustment both in height and seat depth.
Series 1 is available in standard height and stool height, as well as armless version and a version with headrest, a coat hanger and an aluminium base. Its 3D micro-knit fabrics and plastic lumbar/flexor are both available in 11 colours while its frame is available in black and grey. “Series 1 is an attempt to bring together performance, style and choice in one single chair,” said Bockel.
