Cubes Issue 103 was officially launched at Steelcase Worklife Singapore with a soiree and a specially curated Design Conversation session.
October 26th, 2022
Last Thursday, some 80 people from the design and architecture community gathered at Steelcase WorkLife Singapore to celebrate the launch of Cubes Annual Issue 103 published by Communication Indesign. Guests were given copies of the issue before it hit bookstores, met and mingled with the personalities from the issue and enjoyed an evening of panel discussion.
The evening began with aperitifs that were briefly interrupted with a welcome from Cubes and IndesignliveAsia Editor, Vanitha Pavapathi who thanked our partners, Villeroy & Boch and Steelcase for making this event possible.
“We had wanted to organise this issue launch party last year to announce and celebrate that Cubes is no longer published quarterly, but rather annually since 2021 as we bring our audience even more curated content across our print and digital platforms,” she says. “With COVID-19 capacity limit lifted recently, it was an opportune time to connect to the design community again – in person.”
This welcome was then followed by a short speech from Tiffany Totiensri, Associate Sales Director of Steelcase Singapore before the highlight of the evening commences.
A specially curated Design Conversation took place with Singapore’s leading workplace designers and strategists. They are Matthew Burke, Singapore Director of M Moser Associates; Rosie Oliver, Studio Leader of Woods Bagot Singapore; Samantha Giam, Vice President of Steelcase Asia Pacific; and Yvette Koh, Studio Director of Gensler Singapore.
Moderated by Vanitha Pavapathi, the session had the panellists share insightful thoughts and strategies in bringing people and energy back to the workplace as most people settle into a hybrid work arrangement post-pandemic. This highly relatable session also resulted in an animated exchange between audience and panellists.
A cocktail reception capped off the issue launch party with people toasting, chatting and snapping photos. Were you there with us? See more photos in the gallery below!
