The Italian furniture brand and the home furnishings and lifestyle store recently took their partnership up a notch, launching a lofty new monobrand store in Hong Kong.
colourliving recently opened the doors to B&B Italia’s new monobrand showroom in Wan Chai, presenting the luxury furniture brand’s timeless designs in an environment that reflects the striking settings architect Antonio Citterio has created for the brand in Italy.
The new Hong Kong boutique is located in a 3,700-square-foot space at the China Online Centre, 333 Lockhart Road, 31 floors above colourliving’s flagship store. Its clean-lined, contemporary design provides a fitting backdrop to sofas, wall systems, beds, outdoor furniture and Backstage – an elegant walk-in wardrobe designed by Citterio in hand-finished leather and wood – which is available for the first time in Hong Kong.
B&B Italia’s products were initially housed in the flagship colourliving store, but, as Denise Lau, colourliving’s Executive Director, points out, the range has been successful enough to warrant a store all its own. “We began showcasing B&B Italia’s collection at colourliving in June 2015 and, as expected, the response from our clients was extremely positive,” she says. “We therefore felt it was time to unveil a flagship monobrand store in Hong Kong. B&B Italia … is a destination for customers with sophisticated design tastes and an appreciation of the brand.”
The new B&B Italia store sets a new standard for colourliving: it’s the first time the home furnishing and lifestyle provider has branched into monobrand stores. colourliving originally offered high-end, international bathroom and kitchen products to the Hong Kong market, but over the last few years, it has been expanding its offering into other areas of the home by working with the likes of Republic of Fritz Hansen and Poltrona Frau.
To celebrate its forays into monobrand environments, colourliving held a launch party on Thursday 9 March 2017, which was attended by leading Hong Kong designers such as Alan Chan and Steve Leung. Also in attendance was B&B Italia’s Chairman, Giorgio Busnelli.
“The new B&B Italia flagship marks a milestone for our fruitful partnership with colourliving. colourliving provides not only top-notch B&B Italia collections, but also a holistic service, sharing with clients the latest views on home living trends, which are in line with our brand philosophy,” said Busnelli. He also mentioned that B&B Italia has plans to expand further in the Asia Pacific region.
