Taking into accounts the kitchen’s increasing prominence in our living space, Hansgrohe introduces SilicaTec Granite sinks as an option for the kitchen centrepiece, offering a natural look and a finish that’s pleasing to the touch.
With kitchens taking ever more prominence in our living spaces, it makes sense that one of the core elements – the sink – be offered in a greater variety of finishes, just like appliances and surface materials.
Hansgrohe has introduced SilicaTec Granite sinks as an option for the kitchen centrepiece, offering a natural look and a finish that’s pleasing to the touch. SilicaTec Granite sinks incorporate a composite material made from quartz and acrylic resins.
The quartz particles (the hardest constituent of granite) are rounded before being mixed with the acrylic, which means the resulting surface is hard and non-porous but also smooth to touch.
Phoenix Design Studio created the linear design with a broad rim that showcases the material and accommodates a choice of controls on the front right-hand side of the sink (positioned for easy use). To preserve the uncluttered look of the SilicaTec Granite range, the overflow has been positioned discretely at the right-hand side of the sink.
