Camper collaborates with Spanish designer Tomás Alonso for its new London concept store.
February 22nd, 2011
For the latest in its ‘Together’ series of stores – an initiative inviting cutting-edge young designers to create the store interior – Camper worked with Spanish-born London-based Tomás Alonso.
Alonso’s work is based on slow design and simple forms, and this approach can be seen in his fit-out for the Covent Garden location.
Alonso’s starting point was to bend a steel tube; from this he developed the rest of the design.
Wood, colour and multiple tubes interact to create a striking, bright interior.
Tiled walls feature colourful detailing and create an almost 3-D effect.
The Camper Together Tomas Alonso store joins a list of ‘Together’ collaborations between Camper and designers including Alfredo Häberli, Konstantin Grcic, Jaime Hayon, Campana Brothers, Bouroullec Brothers, Tokujin Yoshioka, Michele de Lucchi and Benedetta Tagliabue.
