FDC’s Annual Melbourne Cup Fundraiser was a suitably vibrant affair with over $95,000 raised
November 14th, 2012
FDC and industry friends, Stylecraft, i.e. studio and CBRE, hosted another Melbourne Cup fundraising lunch at Doltone House on the famous first Tuesday of November.
Over the years, the event has become increasingly popular for those in the fields of property, project delivery, design and construction.
In excess of 300 guests attended this year’s sell-out event, held to benefit Habitat for Humanity, a global organisation assisting disadvantaged families seeking a place to call home.
The fundraising tally rose gradually throughout the afternoon and was boosted by the generosity of those who donated on both a corporate and personal level.
The post-race benevolence was led by Thinking Ergonomix who, yet again, donated all of their (second place) winnings of $12,575. Schiavello donated $10,000 of their $20,120 (first place) winnings and TCW donated $6,000 of their (third place) winnings of $7,545.
Many kind donations of products and services supported the day via live and silent auctions.
At the end of the day, a host of individuals including Ian Graham, Jo Harrison, Anthony Scotts, Leigh Wilson and Cornelius Hart also kicked in to ensure we met our ambitious target of $95,000.
This sum will ensure the complete construction of a home in Western Sydney for a genuinely needy family.
