Sydney graphic design company blueandbrown are racing ahead with their horse-inspired wallpaper for the Melbourne Cup.
November 3rd, 2008
Sydney design team blueandbrown are getting into the spirit of the Melbourne Cup this week, creating equine inspired wallpaper for the big race this Tuesday.
“We’ve been inspired by all things equine!” an enthusiastic Skye Vermeesca from blueandbrown says.
With excitement racing around the studio, Vermeesca says the team simply couldn’t resist making something for the event.
“We’ve had a bunch of designs that have been kicking around, and we thought, ‘why don’t we make a Melbourne Cup wallpaper?’”
The design was inspired by the chequered uniforms of the jockeys, chess pieces, and the beauty and athleticism of the horses themselves.
“Everything seems to be about horses at the moment, and not just with the Melbourne cup,” she says.
blueandbrown, founded in 2003 by Skye (‘blue’) Vermeesch and Kirsten (‘brown’) Brown, is making a name for itself as one of the most innovative and creative new graphic design companies.
