Turn trash into treasure and win with the Pop Culture Upcycling Competition.
June 30th, 2011
Upcycling is one of the most exciting design trends around – converting waste or unwanted materials into new products.

Café Culture, Light Culture and Warwick have come together to create the Pop Culture Upcycling Competition as part of this year’s Saturday in Design.
They’re calling for designers to design an upcycled product as a piece of furniture, textiles or lighting.

Be as crazy and creative as you like – the options are endless! There are 2 great prizes up for grabs – a BOSE Beosound docking station and a WiFi iPad.
Submit your entry to the Café Culture showroom or by email to entries@cafeculture.com.au by 5pm Friday 5 August.

Entries can be in the form of an original CAD or hand-drawn illustration of your design, a full-scale model, 3D model, 3D drawing, video or photo.

The top 10 designs will be selected by Indesign and will be on display in the Pop Culture Showroom at Saturday in Design on 20 August.
The top 2 designs will be voted by visitors to the showroom on the day before 3pm, with the winners announced at 4pm.
So before you next go to throw something out, take a second look – it might be your ticket to a fabulous prize!
