“Be the architect of this future” – Giancarlo Ius.
Monday, 6 October 2008 will see the celebration of World Architecture Day, as sanctioned by the Union of International Architects (UIA). The theme for the 2008 celebrations will be “Child Be the Architect of a better future” in honour of the late Italian architect, Giancarlo Ius.
The day, which belongs to the world’s architects and their public, is a celebration of the importance of good design in achieving sustainable, healthy and culturally rich built environments, as well as an appreciation of world architecture. Various planned activities, exhibitions and talks will feature on the day.
