From limited edition finishes to prototypes and new releases – Flokk has taken the opportunity to showcase its Scandinavian power during Orgatec 2018 – all within a beautiful and thoughtful stand design.

With plenty of new things to dangle in front of designers throughout Orgatec, Flokk opted for a combination of finely tuned updates to some classics, as well as some new releases and prototypes.
The theme that brought the Flokk stand to life for Orgatec 2018 is the notion of Belonging. This concept was executed by Flokk’s architect Kari Nost Bergem and textile designer Pernille Jensen Stoltze.
For Flokk, Orgatec is not just about being a place to showcase product, it’s about expressing the core values and identity of the brand. Flokk is a house of brands, that reflect design quality, performance and underpinning it all – sustainability.
Expressing this narrative was, of course, the challenge, “In order to create a Flokk, you need to gather several individuals together. The most efficient way is to put the group in a circle,” shares Bergem.
Adding, “It started with talking about togetherness, and then we came to the word belonging. If you feel included in a group, or a ‘Flokk’, you belong there, and that is the best feeling in order to perform both privately and professionally. Flokk consists of six different brands each with its own qualities – so how do we bring them together?
“We drew inspiration from the ancient ways of forming a group, of gathering the herd, or Flock, and by combining the two we came up with a simple shape and concept.”
The final outcome is a stand that has a circular centre, to bring people through the space, while also referencing the Flokk logo.
“The circles are also a strong metaphor for the circular thinking that is fundamental for our environmental philosophy,” adds Bergem.
The colour choice is equally important, and the theme runs through this too, as Stolze explains, “Working with the colours for Orgatec has been a process. Every fabric has its own character by its unique structure and colour interplay and when combined with others it creates its own little story. The colours also play into our theme “belonging” – if everybody feels included it evokes the best feeling. This is what we want to express through the choice of colours – a sense of belonging by using colours that make you feel inspired and happy.”
