After 12 years in Alexandria, the design experts at Wilkhahn are making a move to not one but two new homes – a state of the art manufacturing facility in Riverwood, and an all new world class showroom in Surry Hills.
The design team at Wilkhahn has always been driven by innovative thinking – it’s what helped the company establish its names in the Asia Pacific region through its Sydney headquarters some 20 years ago.
Since then, the brand has grown into the established brand it is amongst designers today, and with 80% of Wilkhahn products destined for Asia still manufactured in Sydney, Australian design is a part of that story too. With this continued growth in mind, the chance to upgrade to two new homes was one the group knew was the right choice.
First is an all-new Asia Pacific Regional Headquarters for operations and production, housed in a state-of-the- premise in Riverwood, and second, a new custom-built showroom in Surry Hills.
In fact, this is more than just a new showroom. It has been designed as a pioneering ideas exchange – a forum for the curious to connect and be inspired.
The launch of the new Wilkhahn Forum on 1st March 2018 is also a celebration of Wilkhahn’s 111th Year Anniversary and a chance to showcase the new award winning Aula stackable chair and mAx folding table.
Indesign Live will have all the post-party coverage coming soon, but until then, we congratulate the Wilkhahn team on their new homes, and their ongoing championing of genuine design.
