Australian company ISIS are setting an example for Sydney businesses, receiving five-star green-star accreditation for their office in St Leonards.
Refurbishment and refitting is the company’s speciality, and, in true spirit of their skills, ISIS completely refreshed the face of their own 20-year-old office.
The office was the first to receive the five-star accreditation under the new Green Building Council Australia rules that came into effect in 2006 – and with good reason. The building is now fitted with the most modern green technology, including new T5 light fittings, carbon dioxide monitors, office zoning and motorised blinds.
“In addition to reducing our eco-footprint, our aim has been to provide a cleaner and more productive workplace for our people,” ISIS CEO Michael Barnes says.
Knocking down walls on the fourth floor, the company even managed to create an outdoor garden retreat for workers. And, for those wanting to fight the smog and cycle to work, there are new showers and lockers.
“It was important that ISIS practiced what it preached when it came to fitting out our own offices in Sydney,” Barnes says.
“Today, nearly all the fit outs we do are influenced by green thinking and incorporate elements of green design and construction.”
