Doltone House wins Australian Business Award

The Jones Bay Wharf building is awarded for its sustainable initiatives.

Doltone House was presented with an Australian Business Award in the Environmental Sustainability Category at the 2010 Awards.

The extensive use of environmental initiatives by the experts engaged on the Doltone House project secured the building the prestigious award. 

The entire process was governed to ensure 6 star materials and finishes would comply with the accreditation process.

Among the green initiatives taken by the Doltone House designers were:

– Structural concrete made from recycled products

– Airlocks on the venue entrances to limit the heat or cold air transfer from the outside in

– Ortech ceiling insulation: acoustic and thermal-reducing panel – a low embodied energy product made from a renewable resource

– V-KOOL film on glass providing a virtually transparent protective barrier against the sun’s heat and radiation

The Australian Business Award for Environmental Sustainability recognises organisations that demonstrate leadership and commitment to the enhancement, preservation and protection of the environment.
