Japanese designer Hiroomi Tahara has expanded one of Yamakawa Rattan’s best-selling collections with a delicate dining chair.
January 26th, 2018
Japanese designer Hiroomi Tahara created one of Yamakawa’s bestsellers, the Relation sofa, back in 2012. Tahara incorporated metal tubes into the structure of the sofa, which made its thin, undulating form possible.
“The thin structure creates a unique form and yet maintains a tough structure. This can be said about human society as well. I myself survive through life with the support of many people. The origin of this concept is my appreciation of those who have and keep on supporting me,” says Tahara.
This year Yamakawa has expanded the collection with a new dining chair. Featuring the same delicate thin metal structure woven with synthetic rattan, the Relation dining chair is available in a natural finish, as well as black-white-brown and red-black variants.
