Imagine sitting on a sofa linear sofa with your laptop, trying to focus on work, and along comes a colleague who sat right next to you, would that affect your ability to concentrate? Yes, says Kokuyo.
A research conducted by the brand (in collaboration with a Japanese university) showed that 77 per cent of respondents feel that it is easier to concentrate on a task when there is a buffer between them a colleague, 17 per cent higher compared to sitting side-by-side without a buffer.
But the same buffered seating system does not work so well when it’s time for the workers to collaborate. The same research showed that 77 per cent of respondents feel that it’s easier to talk to each other when they are seating at an angle from each other, creating a common area between them that Kokuyo dubs as ‘margin’.
According to the brand, buffer and margin are essential to cater to today’s Activity-Based Working (ABW) strategy. Meet Collesso, Kokuyo’s latest modular seating system.
Collesso is available in a wide range of configurations to support different levels of collaborations. From straight and corner layout configurations to back-to-back and angled configuration combined with high counter tables.
