Textile partners Kvadrat and Rubelli create a sumptuous textile collection that offers a new interpretation of Moroso’s hallmark products.

Setting the Elegance collection
May 11th, 2022
Seventy years after its founding, Moroso’s artisanal approach to product manufacturing and extraordinary creativity in the designing stage has positioned itself amongst the haute couture of international design. A foremost company in upholstered-furniture manufacturing, Moroso continually innovates by collaborating with leading international designers, the likes of Patricia Urquiola, Konstantin Grcic, Nendo, Warcel Wanders and others.
Most recently, the family-run business worked with Kvadrat and Rubelli as textile partners in creating Setting the Elegance collection. Inspired by designs from the yesteryears – during the time of delicate decorations and compositions back in the 70s – this new textile collection offers a new interpretation of Moroso’s hallmark products, which are reinvented to give a new meaning.

An inspiration of beauty and elegance by Moroso, Setting the Elegance collection is not only applicable to the Fjord collection, but also found in Bohemian and Smock – all of which are contemporary designs by Patricia Urquiola. Through an update of upholstery, the seating solutions become anew instantly – classic yet modish at once. This offers exciting new possibilities for professional designers, their most discerning clients and all who love beauty.
Setting the Elegance is the material embodiment of the profoundly eclectic nature of product design. This is exemplified in the collection’s contrasting interplay between the traditional silks and exquisite brocades employed by Rubelli, the materiality of the fine wools and velvets employed by Raf Simons for Kvadrat, and the alternating mix of industrially manufactured and finely finished artisan pieces.

Setting the Elegance much more than a simple mise-en-scène of elegance. This collection is the quintessential of luxury, ideal for those whose quest for excellence is manifested in the finest of detail. It’s for those who desire something beyond pre-established cliches, labels and definitions.
In Singapore, Moroso is available at XTRA.
