Furniture brand Meridiani has mastered the art of juxtaposition. Founded in 1996 by Laura Ferraro Crosti, the brand has found an equilibrium that is elegant yet relaxed, sophisticated yet effortless, classic yet contemporary. In 2013, Meridiani launched Meridiani Editions, a premium collection that combines handcrafting and age-old materials with a contemporary aesthetic. Tuyo, the first Editions series, is a collection of fully customised beds characterised by a hand-quilted finish. Plinto, the second Editions series launched in 2015 (read more about the collection here), is a highly customisable collection of sculptural tables – each a centrepiece in its own right as opposed to a mere surface on which centrepieces are arranged.

Shine, the third Editions series launched this year, comprises a family of storage units, small tables and consoles with one shared trait: the shine of metal accents. Designed by Meridiani Art Director Andrea Parisio, the collection pairs crisp lines and bold geometric shapes with metallic elements that lend a vintage appeal. And of course, all pieces in the collection offer plenty of room for customisation.

The Ludwig cabinet, for example, features a hexagonal wood frame with bronzed brass inserts. It is also offered in a faceted version aptly name Ludwig Diamond. With its metal frame and matt lacquered interior (also available in a glossy finish, if desired), the Sebastian bookcase is the inverted version of Ludwig.

Serving like a contemporary pedestal, the Judd low table features a bronzed brass sculptural base that supports a circular top available in matt or glossy lacquer or a marble finish.
