Jaime Hayon’s Ro Chair for Fritz Hansen is a perfect place to decompress. Recently launched as a sofa version, now it accommodates two!
September 8th, 2017
The collaboration between Danish heritage brand Republic of Fritz Hansen and Spanish designer Jaime Hayon that started in 2011 was arguably one of the most inspired, if unexpected, collaborations in the design world’s recent history.
Their creative partnership has given birth to a collection of furniture pieces that beautifully merge impeccable Scandinavian craftsmanship and timelessness with Hayon’s signature playfulness.
One of them is the Ro lounge chair. Introduced in 2013, Ro features a curvaceous silhouette and a generous cushioning with a high back. Made with hard polyurethane foam with glass fibre enforced edges, its gently enveloping back offers both comfort and privacy – a perfect place to decompress.
This year Fritz Hansen has expanded the Ro family with a sofa version. Featuring a 115.5-centimetre-tall back, 150-centimetre width and 93-centimetre seat depth, the Ro sofa is a spacious yet intimate social space for two. Place two Ro sofas facing one another and you’ve got yourself a cosy, semi-private enclosure for four.
Upholstered with Kvadrat’s signature Fiord fabric (a wool textile with a subtle three-dimensional texture designed by Norwegian designer Torne Barnung), the Ro sofa is available in five colour schemes. A wide range of other fabrics, as well as leather options, are also available on request.
In Singapore Fritz Hansen is carried by W. Atelier.
