The Danish lighting brand has chosen Singapore as the location for its first ever mono-brand showroom outside Denmark.
February 17th, 2015
The opening of Louis Poulsen’s brand new mono-brand showroom in Singapore is an extremely significant step for the Danish lighting brand. Not only is it the company’s first such store in Asia, it’s also the very first outside Denmark.
“Louis Poulsen sees Asia as one of the most important markets with a strong growth potential. With the launch of the flagship store in Singapore, we will be delivering to the Asian market, out technological innovation coupled with the distinctive, striking Danish-design that embraces our lighting,” says Hans Lindeberg, Vice President of International Sales and Marketing for Louis Poulsen.
The new showroom, which is launched in partnership with Sunlight Luminaire, spans over 1,500 square feet in a conserved shophouse along Purvis Street and is designed by Singaporean interior designer Peter Tay.
Upon entry, one will see a reflective mirrored box that blurs the perception of interior and exterior; it also enables one to appreciate the Danish brand’s lighting products from all angles. Further in, one will find a designer’s gallery and a dedicated product showcase area.
The store features a comprehensive range of Louis Poulsen design icons including the PH Artichoke, Doo-Wop, AJ lights and LC Shutters. Also shown for the first time in Singapore is the new PH 3 ½ – 3 pendant, created to mark the 120th birthday of designer Poul Henningsen, a longtime collaborator with the Danish brand.
Louis Poulsen Singapore is located at 5 Purvis Street, #01-02, Singapore 188584.
As of 2017, Louis Poulsen Singapore has become a standalone business. The showroom has undergone substantial redesign, reopening in August 2017.
