An insight into the design industry through the eyes of our Singapore Indesign Ambassadors.
June 18th, 2014
For every Indesign: The Event across the Asia Pacific region, we invite a selection of local design figures to serve as Ambassadors for the event. Those chosen are individuals who have shown themselves to be leaders in their field within the architecture and design community.
In 2012, we had local design leaders playing a similar role as our ‘Insiders’. These included Adib Jalal (Fivefootway/Temasek Poly), Timo Wong (Studio Juju) and Jackson Tan (PHUNK). They gave our visitors (when the event was named Saturday in Design) everything from tips on where to eat, to Singapore’s best kept secrets and more with drawings and sketches in our event handbook.
This year, our Ambassadors will be giving us more insights into their take on the design scene. We are pleased to announce the first of our 2014 Ambassadors, Natalie Louey, Director and Head of Interiors at ONG&ONG, and Peter Tay, Principal of Peter Tay Studio.
Natalie Louey is one of the most forward thinking female designers in the industry. Her most recent projects include the rebranding of Singapore Airlines’ Silverkris Lounges, starting with the one in Sydney.
Peter Tay’s clients include Hollywood star Zhang Ziyi, so it’s no surprise he’s become known as the interior designer to Singapore’s high society. Tay’s work spans the gamut of luxury projects from residential apartments to niche retail boutiques.
Peter Tay and Natalie Louey will be telling us more about their work, and giving us their own unique perspectives into the state of design in Singapore, and their thoughts on Singapore Indesign and what such an event can bring to the local design community. Stay tuned as we post interviews with each of them over the coming weeks, and as we reveal the full line-up of our Ambassadors.
Singapore Indesign will be held on 4 October 2014. Register for free today. For more information and regular updates, visit singaporeindesign.com.sg and subscribe to the Enewsletter here.
