A pictorial look into the world of David Bromley.
March 3rd, 2010
The much-anticipated book from the acclaimed Australian artist comes after many years of discussions, and quite thankfully, it lives up to the wait.
Listed among Australian Art Collector’s 50 most collectable artists, while his artwork might be out of most of our reaches, Bromley enthusiasts can now have access to his energetic and colourful works in this generous compendium.
A collaboration between Earl Carter and 3 Deep Design, A Picture Book First and Foremost captures the two distinct facets of Bromley’s artistic work – the female portrait and the children’s series – in two distinct volumes.
But stepping beyond the canvas, a third volume offers a rare glimpse into the environments and worlds that Bromley engages in.
The sumptuous images by talented photographer Earl Carter artfully depict the artist in his inspiring surroundings, making for an intimate portrayal of the man at work.
A limited edition version presented in a handmade leather school bag complete with a limited edition print is likely to become as coveted as the artist’s works.
Celebrating the launch of David Bromley’s A Picture Book First and Foremost, the Jan Murphy Gallery is exhibiting a series of his works ‘Pin-ups and Picture Books’ which launches on 21 March with a book signing with David Bromley himself.
