On March 24 2011 Nick Tridente of Tridente Architects will be appointed to the role of President of the Australian Institute of Architects’ South Australian Chapter.

Tridente has been a member of the Australian Institute of Architects since 1984, and principal designer for Tridente Architects since the company’s inception in 1988.

A respected member of the professional community and Sir James Irwin President’s Medal recipient in 2010, Tridente has extensive experience with institutional and educational facilities and commercial and residential buildings.

Tridente’s appointment will be particularly significant following the establishment of the Integrated Design Commission (IDC) and the appointment of a Government Architect, for which he was an advocate.

“We have a responsibility as professional architects to determine suitable design outcomes for the benefit of future generations,” said Tridente.

“However the success of these outcomes is also determined by the degree to which the community place value on them. Working alongside the Government Architect and the IDC we aim to bring a much needed understanding of the value and importance of design and its impact on both the quality of life for all South Australians and the future success of our state.”

Tridente will replace outgoing State President David Holland, of DASH Architects.
