Frasers Property Australia have received approval for their proposed Ateliers Jean Nouvel designed residential and retail complex on Broadway.
The NSW Planning Minister Tony Kelly granted approval yesterday following extensive consultation.
The two residential towers will comprise 593 apartments above a five-storey, 16,000sqm retail podium located on Broadway.
A commercial campus designed by Foster + Partners comprising 68,000 sqm also received approval on the corner of Broadway and Abercrombie Street.
Frasers is set to begin construction of the Ateliers Jean Nouvel residential towers, which was named ‘One Central Park’, by the end of the year.
Construction is already underway on ht $2 billion precinct in the site of the old Carlton United Brewery.
One Central Park will match the height of the UTS tower in its eastern residential tower and 46.5 for the western tower.
Below the residential towers, a 5 level retail and recreation podium will also begin construction and set to be completed in 2013.
A commercial campus designed by Foster + Partners comprising 68,000 sqm also received approval on the corner of Broadway and Abercrombie Street, which will mark the new gateway of the southern CBD, with a glass façade floating above the restored, heritage-protected Abercrombie Hotel and street-level retail space.
The commercial campus will provide up to 6000sqm floor plates with superb access to retail, open space and the precinct’s future ‘Brewery Yard’ entertainment and dining zone.
