Qantas has unveiled its new Brisbane International Lounge, a luxurious and relaxing space inspired by tropical Northern Australia, designed in collaboration with Geyer.

Designed to offering travellers a stylish way to relax, work and dine in before overseas flights, the new Brisbane International Lounge “reflects the natural beauty of the Queensland landscape through natural light, furniture and design”, says Gareth Evans, Qantas International CEO.

Geyer collaborated with Qantas to design the unique elements in the new lounge. Inspired by unique beauty of the north of Australia and the warmth familiarity of a Queensland home, the lounge has been designed to offer a pre-flight experience centred around wellbeing and the practical needs of today’s international traveller.

“It has been an exciting and rewarding journey working with Qantas and The Rockpool Group to create the new International Lounge for Brisbane Airport,” says Simone Oliver, Partner and Global Design Leader at Geyer said, “The lounge has been designed to reflect a quintessential Queensland vernacular and Regionality. The environment we sought to create brings together lightness, quality and more ‘open shirt collar’ feel than other lounges.”

Split across two levels, The Brisbane International Lounge offers around 30 per cent more space than previous lounges, and recalls the award winning Hong Kong and Singapore Lounge concepts.
