HOW MIGHT FURNITURE COMMUNICATE THE CONCEPT OF A SPACE?

Designed around the idea to “bring a bit of cafe culture to work everyday” the new Go Graphics commercial fitout, designed by local firm Design Theory, creates a new identity in an old industrial setting in South Fremantle, WA and an expression of activity based working, which enables staff and visitors to migrate through the space throughout the day.

Having recently won the DIA WA Award of Merit in the Interior category for their work on the Go Graphics commercial project, Design Theory have managed to create a “refreshingly clever fitout of the Go Graphics space, full of originality and humor, ultimately sending a very positive message,” said one DIA WA 2015 judge.

The aim of Design Theory was to accomplish a sustainable build with zero plasterboard used, locally sourced fabricators such as high-end furniture curators DISTRICT and low energy materials to suit the Design Theory ethos of responsibility.

The new Go Graphics workplace is a true example of how design can guide a brand to develop and reach it goals when investing with the right design suppliers and partners.

Bespoke signage house recounts their experience and shares their post-occupancy encounters with their new office space. “The project brief was to give our little Perth signage business, a big office environment upgrade. We called on the talented team from Design Theory last year. Design Theory is a local design firm. They are refreshingly clever and meticulously detailed when it comes to interior spaces.

“Our main office is located in a business strip. It’s an old industrial setting in South Fremantle. We’ve been here for more than 15 years. Our work environment was tired and the years of toil were telling.

“The new interior was designed around an idea to “bring a bit of cafe culture to work every day”. The new layout enables team members and our visitors to migrate through the space throughout the day. The floorplan and fitout effortlessly support our work activity and client meetings. It really is a joy to be at work.

“How elated we are in our new workspace! It’s a superior upgrade to what we worked in before. Everyone smiles all the time now when they come to work. We are so grateful to work in such a wonderful office space. We are very proud!”

Design Theory specified key products from Perth-based DISTRICT, including the Levels Pendant (designed by Form Us With Love for HEM) and the Tangerine Stool (designed by Simon James for Resident). All available through DISTRICT.
