DB&B turns an old warehouse into a vibrant and people-centred office for China’s leading Internet Content Provider.
March 15th, 2012
With a fast expanding head count, Dianping made the decision in 2010 to move the company’s Shanghai office from North Road to an 8,000 sqm site at E-Manor.

The company was looking for a fun and social workspace that focussed on human needs and development – an environment where creativity could flourish.

DB&B was enlisted for the project and decided to bring the cement-grey tones of the old warehouse building into the interior. They also demolished the existing columns to create a modern loft-style work environment flushed with natural light. Energetic colours were added to complement Dianping’s vivid orange branding.

The team designed a variety of different zones from small breakout areas to larger spaces for seminars and town hall meetings. They also planned a matrix of traffic and communication paths linking the exterior of the building seamlessly to different sections of the office interiors.

And with the welcome lounge, conference centre, training centre and gallery connected in an open-plan layout, Dianping is now also able to host large and diverse groups of people. In addition, the versatile spaces cater for Dianping’s future expansion needs.
