Artists from around the world were invited to submit computer-generated imagery of ’awe-inspiring fusions’ of architecture and landscapes, with an emphasis on imagination and artistic expression.

The winner of the latest NVArt digital art challenge, the second in a series of worldwide art competitions, has been announced. The theme was ’Art Space: Architecture and Landscape.’
The first place award went to digital artist, Staszek Marek, of Poland for ’Complex at the Centre of the Universe’ (pictured above). Second place was awarded to ’The Great Bayan’ by Sergey Skachkov from Russia and third place was taken by Andrew Barton, of Great Britain for ’Mega Village, 2108’.
"We invited artists to stand on the shoulders of giants like architect Frank Gehry and gaze into the far reaches of their imaginations", said Mark Snoswell, president of CGSociety, a global organisation for digital artists.
"Our artists have created wonderful places that are pure art, where one can wake each day to marvel at the play of light through fantastical spaces and at vibrant fusions of light, color, and texture."
Selected NVArt award winners will be on display at NVISION 08, the premier event for visual computing professionals and enthusiasts, on August 25-27, 2008 in San Jose, California.

The full day tour will feature work from two of Sydney’s most renowned architects – Harry Seidler and Bruce Rickard. While the locations are yet to be confirmed the tour is likely to take in Rose Seidler House, the McCartney house at Clontarf and the Whale Beach House.
Lunch will be at the popular Moby’s Restaurant. Bound to be a popular tour, you should book early.
