Sydney’s Allianz Stadium should need no introduction. It has long been an iconic venue, steeped in sporting history and cultural significance. Following a major redevelopment, the stadium has been transformed into a state-of-the-art facility that merges functionality with contemporary design.
A crucial aspect of this transformation was the fitout of key hospitality and lounge areas, a project undertaken by Space Commercial Services in collaboration with Viccarbe, the Spanish furniture brand renowned for its refined yet approachable designs.
Renewed and invigorated, Viccarbe’s hospitality and retail furniture collection played a defining role in shaping the stadium’s upgraded interior experience. The project’s goal was to balance aesthetic sophistication with the practical needs of a high-traffic entertainment venue, ensuring durability, comfort and a seamless connection to the stadium’s architectural language.
Founded in Valencia, Spain, Viccarbe’s design philosophy is deeply grounded in Mediterranean warmth and simplicity. With a focus on collaborative spaces, the brand’s collections are found in leading hotels, corporate headquarters and cultural institutions worldwide – including Allianz Stadium’s exclusive Members’ Area.
Viccarbe’s furniture is characterised by clean lines, soft forms and timeless appeal. With pieces designed by the best international line-up, such as Patricia Urquiola and Jaime Hayon, the entire range embodies the brand’s commitment to quality and sustainability.
It was an aligned ethos that matched perfectly to the ambitions of the Allianz Stadium redevelopment – where high-performance materials and long-lasting design solutions were prioritised.
The Allianz Stadium fitout features a curated selection of Viccarbe’s hospitality furniture, chosen to enhance both the functionality and ambience of premium seating and lounge areas. Among the standout pieces is the Copa Stool, designed by Ramos & Bassols. With its extra-wide seat and elegant silhouette inspired by a crystal glass, it provides comfort and style in bar and hospitality settings.
The Maarten Stool, crafted by Victor Carrasco, was selected for its ergonomic design and adaptability. With smooth curves and an inviting form, it integrates seamlessly into collaborative zones where guests can gather before or after events. Likewise, the Colubi Armchair – a contemporary design by RT Design – brings a Mediterranean aesthetic with geometric lines and a steel structure, offering both durability and comfort in high-use spaces.
For a more relaxed seating experience, the Funda Chair and Lounge Chair, designed by Stefan Diez, introduces an innovative approach to sustainable design. Created with a metal frame and removable fabric upholstery, these pieces support circular economy principles while delivering an elegant, enveloping form.
Dining and communal areas within the stadium benefit from the Stan Bar Table and Table collection, designed by VCCB Studio. Offering multiple sizes and finishes, the Stan series effortlessly adapts to various hospitality settings. Complementing this is Patricia Urquiola’s sculptural Burin Table, which lends a distinctive character to lounges, meeting areas and VIP spaces.
