The latest stunning collection from Tappeti Fine Hand-Crafted Rugs + Carpets demonstrates the alchemical talents of designers and artisans in translating the world of nature into luxurious artefacts for human spaces.
March 31st, 2025
The Tappeti Designer Collective was created in collaboration with five of Singapore’s most renowned designers: Michael Fiebrich Design, Elliot James, Ethereall, EightyTwo, and Architology.
Each distinctive handcrafted rug demonstrates the exceptional talents of both the designer’s imagination and the traditional hand crafting expertise of Tappeti’s artisan makers.
Architology Interiors is dedicated to creating spaces that elevate human experience through crafting sophisticated, elegant spaces that evoke deep emotional connections. The Paper Wind rug has resonances of the interplay of air and matter, drawing on the motif of the Chinese paper fan.
The subtle sculptural quality of the New Zealand wool and art silk used in this hand-tufted rug evokes a dynamic of movement and life, with a restrained palette of navy, grey and sand. The size of 3m X 3.5m or in your preferred bespoke dimensions makes each rug a distinctive piece which is versatile for a wide range of commercial and residential settings.
EightyTwo Design Studio captures the contemplative and restorative essence of Zen sand gardens and nature-centric ways of being in their rug ‘Huit’. Calm, mesmerising arcs of sculptural New Zealand Wool and art silk in shades of cream and taupe invite the eye and the mind to be at ease in space.
A harmonious balance of intricacy and stillness in the design of this 3m X 3.5 m statement piece is matched by textural variations within the hand-tufted, luxurious weave, which embodies softness and warmth. This mirrors the ethos of the studio, which looks to enhance human wellbeing within interior spaces through blending human behaviour with thoughtful design that engages all the senses.
Nature and the organic interplay between forms and elements was the source of inspiration for the Magnifying Nature art rugs by Elliot James Interiors.
The essence of the interactions between forms and light, sand and water, reflection and shadow formed the basis of the design. This was then translated through the fusion of embossing and to create three variations available in both a standard size of 2m x 2.5m and custom sizes on request. There are three colour palettes to choose from: the striking ochre and pale sand contrast of Magnifying Nature Ivory, the landscape hues in muted green and ancient stone of Magnifying Nature Moss and the subtle leafy forms and glimpsed, reflected horizons of Shadows of Serenity.
Ethereall Interior Design Studio is dedicated to taking design beyond aesthetics through simplifying the way spaces are used and thus enhancing human experience in commercial, residential, retail and hospitality settings.. In the bold design for Fragmented, the textures and shades of concrete as it becomes exposed to the elements of water, sunlight and time are transformed into luxurious softness and glamorous interplays of hues. The palette of greys with touches of ochre and cobalt blue is expressed in hand-tufted New Zealand Wool, felted wool and art silk, with a standard size of 2.5m x 3.5m, or in custom dimensions and sizes on request.
Inspired by the intricate essence of landscapes and traditions, Michael Fiebrich Design has created a layered art rug that centres both the textures and hues of nature and the workmanship of Tappeti’s artisan co-creators.
The Strie series embodies elegance through a layering of shades and texture that echoes the grain of timber, striations of stone and the movement of water. Strie’s colourway iterations of Twilight, Sand, Mist and Copper and the availability of custom dimensions offer enormous flexibility in harmonising with a variety of settings and aesthetics.
