In an illustrious ceremony held on September 8, the winners of Australia’s premier international design accolades were unveiled at the 2023 Australian Good Design Awards. Wave Grate emerged as the recipient of the esteemed Good Design Award Winner Accolade in the Product Design category, a testament to its exceptional contributions in the fields of design and innovation.

“The Wave Grate is a stylish and functional product that has clearly incorporated a new approach to manufacturing and design,” announced the Good Design Awards Jury. “Achieving a patented design is highly commendable and a clear reflection of its innovation.”
The Good Design Awards are among the most prestigious achievements for design across the country. Spanning a comprehensive range of projects across 11 Design Disciplines, the Good Design Awards cover more than 35 categories and Subcategories to shine a light on the brightest products and innovations across the industry.

“To be recognised with an Australian Good Design Award tells the world this project not only represents design excellence, but it also surpasses the criteria for design innovation and design impact,” says Dr Brandon Gien, CEO of Good Design Australia and Chair of the Australian Good Design Awards. “The Good Design Award is an independent endorsement of professional design quality.”
The exceptional oxide anodized aluminium product is designed to revolutionize drainage, catering to both residential and commercial needs. With its unique wave pattern and patented separator that eliminates corrosion concerns, the Wave Grate promises high-performance drainage at affordable prices, all while offering an elegant and easy-to-maintain design.

As Dr Gien concludes, “The Good Design Awards recognise and celebrate the transformative power of design to find innovative, customer-centric solutions to local and global challenges. There are so many inspiring impact-led projects this year that have embraced the power of design as a problem-solving tool – their design stories deserve to be recognised and celebrated at the highest level.”
Stormtech’s Wave Grate represents a remarkable fusion of design and innovation, making it a noteworthy player in the realm of modern drainage solutions.
