Staron® Solid Surfaces were a natural choice for this interior at Sydney’s The Star entertainment complex.
March 30th, 2012
A luxurious eatery in Sydney’s recently refurbed entertainment hub has received the star treatment with Staron® Solid Surfaces by Samsung.
Designed by Fitzpatrick + Partners and MBBD in collaboration with the fabrication skills of Design Hub, the project features Staron® Solid Surfaces in high gloss Onyx as the seat backs and kicks.
Design Hub created a surface that extends over a continuous 140 linear metres.
Joined with a special Staron® adhesive and sanded, the surface has no open joins, but rather looks and performs as a single piece for a smooth, sophisticated finish.
Curved seat backs and kicks were made possible thanks to the thermoformability of Staron®. The curves give a soft, organic look to this high tech material.
Fluted columns, also created with Staron and also thermoformed to shape, add further gloss and beauty to the elegant interior space.
Do you have a project that features Staron Solid Surfaces as beautifully as this one? Entry to the Staron® Design Awards is now open in the categories of Commercial, Residential and Concept. Visit the Staron® website for more information on the awards and how to enter.
