The B&B Italia Bend Sofa by Patricia Urquiola has arrived at Space Furniture.
February 2nd, 2011
The Bend Sofa by Patricia Urquiola is an astonishing series of seats that transforms the traditional concept of the sofa.
The piece’s curvaceous form gives the impression of being manually moulded from a supple material as if by a sculptor.
Following on from a study of 3-D models and digital research, the Bend Sofa plays with space and conveys the idea of motion.
Contrasting seams add to the intrinsic design on the surface.
Curved modules – assembled starting with the seats, ottoman and corner elements – form a sofa that breaks out of the usual visual schemes and differentiates from other contemporary pieces through its calculated eccentricity.
The sofa offers flexible composition solutions, including small linear versions, corner solutions or a spectacular (and not necessarily domestic) version that can fill a space with double-sided seating arrangements.
The Bend Sofa, available in Australia through Space Furniture, with its iconic presence is sure to be the centre of attention.
